My Background

After high school, I attended Bauder Fashion College (on scholarship). I spent two semesters there before switching to a university. At Bauder, I gained first-hand exposure to the fashion industry and experienced the revealing behind-the-scenes of the business. There, I learned about the history, marketing techniques, and inspiring evolution of luxury brands like Gucci, Louis Vuitton, and whatnot. As a fashion enthusiast, I am often drawn to people’s handbags when I meet them. I study the handbags’ uniqueness, quality, style, and design. While processing these features, I try to understand what influenced their purchasing decision to grasp their style. I then research and keep up with the trend while respecting the classics. All these were instrumental in the making of Ahisa.
The name: Ahisa

Ahisa isn’t just my brand name. It is also my middle name given to me by my mother’s best friend, Bettye. And yes, (as you probably guessed), it has been scrutinized and mispronounced countless times ever since God knows when. Though the meaning of Ahisa is unknown, I proceeded to name my brand after it because I feel it represents loyalty. So whoever purchases one of Ahisa’s bags isn’t just buying a stylish and functional handbag, but one that represents loyalty. Want to appreciate a loyal friend? Get her one of Ahisa’s handbags!
What makes Ahisa stand out?

While I am inspired and encouraged by emerging luxury brands like Brandon Blackwood and Telfar, Ahisa has some distinctive features that set it apart from common luxury bag brands. First, Ahisa was created to merge my love for handbags and friendship. We believe that the luxury handbag space is missing something: inspiration. That’s why we’re here. We’ve created a line of handbags inspired by the beauty and magic of friendship, with the goal of changing how people view this industry. We want our bags to inspire you to pull them out when you need a boost, whether that means cheering up a friend in need or helping yourself feel confident and ready for anything on date night with your significant other. We’re not just selling handbags—we’re selling something more than that: purpose. We want everyone who owns one of our bags to feel like they have their very own personal cheerleader in their pocket or purse, ready to help them face whatever life throws at them.
Brand Vision

Every brand has its vision, and I believe that of Ahisa should excite every luxury handbag enthusiast. Inspired by the love of handbags and friendship, the Ahisa brand wants to spread the magic of friendship through its handbags. I also aim to contribute to the handbag space by offering bag enthusiasts a taste of something different—a unique experience. Ahisa brand is redefining the norm, and we want you to be a part of this movement.
My Fashion Inspirations

My fashion inspirations came from multiple personalities in TV programs, movies, and series. Some examples are Molly and Issa from Insecure, Samantha and Charlotte from Sex and the City, and Monica, Rachel, and Phobe from Friends. In addition to these shows—which inspired and shaped my thought about how fashion and friendship are woven into our lives—I also got some inspiration from my own family, friends and artists who have an eye for quality and style across fashion, Art, and jewelry,which rubbed off on me.
